Egypt observes daylight saving while Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not, and Egypt, Europe and the US change clocks on different dates, so differences shift during the year. Weeks with temporary differences are highlighted.

Different weekends, fewer shared days

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman take Friday and Saturday off. The UAE, Europe, the UK and the US take Saturday and Sunday off. Riyadh and Cairo share 5 working days, Sunday to Thursday; a Riyadh client with a Berlin or Dubai partner shares 4, Monday to Thursday.

4 shared working days per week

Your squad's working week can follow yours, recorded in your Order Form, or we can cover Sundays or Fridays with shifts, as a separate quote line.

Ramadan dates change every year; we apply them for the date you choose (8 February 2027 to 9 March 2027 this year).

  • Saudi Arabia: up to 6 working hours a day for Muslim employees in the private sector, under the Labour Law
  • UAE: private-sector working hours reduced by 2 hours a day
  • Egypt: reduced hours set by annual government decisions

Squads stagger coverage during Ramadan so critical hours stay covered. Agree the pattern at kickoff.

For most product teams, 4 or more shared hours a day is enough for stand-ups, reviews and quick decisions. Teams with frequent pairing or live incidents prefer 6 or more. The planner shows your actual overlap so you can decide, and Remote Pro Ai fixes the agreed core hours in your Order Form.

Saudi Arabia is on UTC+3 all year, while Egypt is on UTC+2 in winter and UTC+3 in summer. So there is no difference during Egyptian summer time and a 1-hour difference the rest of the year. A 09:00–17:00 day therefore shares 7–8 hours, and the two cities share 5 working days a week.

Cairo is 0–1 hour ahead of Central European Time and 1–2 hours ahead of London through the year, because Egypt and Europe change clocks on different dates. In practice a Cairo team shares about 7 hours with Berlin or Paris, which is why Cairo is our usual hub for European clients, with GDPR terms in every DPA.

Teams in Riyadh or Cairo work Sunday to Thursday, while Europe and the UAE work Monday to Friday, leaving 4 shared days. If you need 5 shared days, your squad can follow your working week, recorded in the Order Form, or we can cover Sundays or Fridays with shifts as a separate line.

Yes. The Ramadan toggle applies this year's dates and the shortened hours in Saudi Arabia (up to 6 a day for Muslim private-sector employees), the UAE (2 hours shorter) and Egypt (set by annual decisions). The planner recalculates overlap, and squads stagger coverage so your critical hours stay covered.

Yes. Request extended hours that start or finish later to suit your time zone; they appear as a proportional line in your quote. You can also combine Cairo engineers with on-site roles in Riyadh or Dubai in the same squad. The planner shows the effect of each option on shared hours before you request it.
