search_talent MCP tool

The search_talent MCP tool searches Remote Pro Ai's bench of vetted specialists and returns anonymised profiles that match skills, level, start date and data residency. Use it when a user describes the people they need. It's public, read-only and returns no personal data, so it's safe to call without confirmation.

Developer preview until live: the MCP server and the platform API are not running yet. Tools, endpoints and examples on these pages describe the interface we are building; a call made today returns nothing.

What the search_talent MCP tool does

  • Use it for: "Find me 2 senior React Native engineers who can start next month."
  • Don't use it for: pricing (use estimate_squad_cost) or confirming a start date (use check_availability).

Output

  • results[]: each has profile_id (anonymised, e.g. anon_8F2KQ), headline, practice, seniority, experience_band (e.g. "6–9 years"), skills[] (verified in vetting), languages[], timezone (UTC offset), availability (state: now, from_date or soft_held; available_from), residency_patterns[], vetted (always true), video_available, profile_url.
  • total: approximate number of matches.
  • next_cursor: present when more results exist.
  • notice: Anonymised profiles. Names and contact details are shared only after an NDA and an interview request the engineer accepts.

Example

The assistant calls search_talent with skills "Unreal Engine 5" and "rollback netcode", seniority "senior", start_by 2026-11-01, residency "uae" and limit 3. The response contains 3 profiles and a total of 14. The first is anon_8F2KQ: a Senior gameplay and netcode engineer, experience band 6–9 years, verified skills Unreal Engine 5, C++ and rollback netcode, English and Arabic, UTC+2, availability "now", with an intro video. A next_cursor lets the assistant fetch more. The text summary reads: "3 of 14 senior Unreal netcode engineers who can start by 1 Nov 2026."

Errors

  • invalid_argument: seniority must be mid, senior or lead. Remote Pro Ai doesn't place junior engineers.
  • invalid_argument: Provide at least one of query, skills or practice.
  • invalid_argument: skills accepts up to 10 items.
  • rate_limited · unavailable

total is 0 and the summary suggests widening start_by or removing a filter.

Limits and access

  • Public. No token needed.
  • Anonymous limit: 30 calls per minute per IP. Authenticated: 120 per minute per organisation.
  • With OAuth, results also mark profiles your organisation already holds.

Frequently asked questions

No. Every result is anonymised: a profile_id, headline, level, experience band, verified skills, languages, time zone and availability. Names, photos, employers and contact details are shared only inside the booking flow, after an NDA and an interview request the engineer accepts.

It filters to engineers who can work under the data-residency pattern for that client region: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the EU or the US. For example, residency "ksa" returns engineers cleared for in-Kingdom patterns, including onsite work where the profile says so.

Remote Pro Ai places specialists at 3 levels only: Mid (4–6 years), Senior (6–9) and Lead (9+). Every specialist has at least 4 years of professional experience, so seniority accepts mid, senior or lead and rejects anything else with a clear message.

Availability comes from engineers' live calendars, and profiles not confirmed within 7 days are hidden from search. Results reflect the bench at the moment of the call, so assistants should check_availability before presenting a start date as firm. Each result shows its availability state.

Typically, pass the chosen profile_ids to check_availability to confirm start windows, then to estimate_squad_cost for a priced estimate with a quote_id. If the user wants to proceed, show a summary and call request_proposal only after they confirm. Never skip the confirmation step.
