In short

Remote Pro Ai’s engineer vetting process, run by MatchIQ™, puts every specialist through 5 gates: a profile screen, a live technical interview, a practical task, an English or Arabic communication assessment and a background check. Only people with at least 4 years of experience enter, and 3.4% of applicants pass 5 gates (2026 company profile). Each receives a verifiable credential.

Vetting you can audit published pass rates, sample tasks and a credential your team can verify by QR code.

The 5 gates of our engineer vetting process

  1. Screen: CV, portfolio and work history matched against one of 122 role profiles by our matching engine and a recruiter; at least 4 years’ relevant experience; the level claimed is recorded.

  2. Technical: a live interview with a Lead practitioner from the same practice, covering fundamentals, system design and depth at the level claimed.

  3. Practical: a realistic, timed task in a work-like environment, scored against a written rubric by 2 senior reviewers.

  4. Communication: spoken and written assessment in English, and in Arabic for roles that need it, covering clarity, documentation and stakeholder updates.

  5. Background: identity, qualifications, previous employers, references and sanctions screening, with criminal-record checks where local law permits.

A practice lead confirms the final level (Mid, Senior or Lead). We do not admit juniors. MatchIQ™ is our vetting and matching engine: 5 gates and 122 role profiles produce a shortlist within 48 hours, and 3.4% of applicants pass.

What the practical task looks like, by practice

AI & Data
build a RAG pipeline over Arabic documents, measure retrieval accuracy and explain how you limit hallucination.
Cybersecurity
analyse the logs of a phishing incident, trace the intrusion path and recommend containment.
Cloud & Complex Systems
fix a failing Kubernetes deployment and add the missing observability.
Game Development
lift an Unreal scene from 40 to 60 frames per second on mid-range hardware and explain the trade-offs.
Mobile & Web
design an idempotent payments service and implement one endpoint with tests.
Design
redesign an Arabic right-to-left sign-up flow to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Background checks, done before you meet anyone

  • Identity and right to work in the country of residence verified
  • Academic and professional qualifications confirmed with their issuers
  • At least 2 previous employers or professional references contacted
  • Sanctions and watch-list screening
  • Criminal-record check where local law permits
  • Re-verification every year, or on request for sensitive roles; client-specific screening or clearance on request (the 4 working days count from the date the client grants the clearance)

Each engineer’s verification status is visible in Client OS, and checks required by government or banking clients can be added.

A credential you can verify yourself

Every specialist who passes all 5 gates receives the Remote Pro Ai Vetted credential, a digitally signed record of practice, level, date of last assessment and background-check status. Scan the QR code on any profile, or enter the credential ID below, to confirm it is genuine and current. Engineers can also share it on their professional profiles.

The Remote Pro Ai Vetted credential is issued through Credly, is valid for 24 months and carries an ID in the format RPV-YYYY-NNNNNN.

Vetting does not stop at the first engagement

Each engineer carries a performance score built from client pulses during the trial, monthly client feedback, practice-lead reviews and delivery signals such as code-review quality, review turnaround and sprint reliability. The score shapes future matching and continued membership of the network.

  • Daily client pulse during the trial, then monthly feedback
  • Quarterly practice-lead review with a written development plan
  • Trial and replacement outcomes feed back into the gate rubrics

Few: 3.4% of applicants pass 5 gates (2026 company profile). Per 100 applicants, 31 pass the screen, 9 the technical and practical gates, 5 the communication interview and 3.4 the background checks. Rolling 90-day pass rates per gate join the delivery metrics in November 2026. We publish the numbers so procurement and security teams can judge the bar themselves rather than trust a slogan.

Because we are contractually responsible for quality and promise a start within 4 working days, with no long ramp-up. Our profiles therefore start at Mid level (4–6 years), then Senior (6–9) and Lead (9 or more). A junior engineer needs supervision that shifts the risk back to you, which defeats the purpose.

Lead practitioners from the candidate’s own practice, not a general recruiting team: a security specialist assesses security engineers, a game developer assesses Unreal developers. Practical tasks are scored by 2 senior reviewers against a written rubric, and a practice lead signs off the final level, so any result can be reviewed later.

Yes. All specialists are assessed in English. Roles that serve Arabic-speaking users or Gulf government stakeholders are also assessed in Arabic, covering spoken updates, professional writing and, for design and content roles, right-to-left interface work. Language levels appear on every profile, and you can filter the shortlist for Arabic.

Yes. After the NDA you can run a technical interview or a short task with any shortlisted candidate, within the same timeline. For larger contracts, your test can be added to the practical gate for every candidate we put forward for you, and the 48-hour shortlist commitment still applies.

Yes. Every shortlist card shows the technical, practical and communication scores with a short intro video. After the NDA you also see the full CV, a summary of the practical task and the assessor’s notes. You can request an extra technical interview before approving, without delaying the shortlist.

It proves the engineer passed all 5 gates at a stated level and practice, on a stated date, and that the credential is still valid. It is digitally signed, so you can verify it by QR code or credential ID without contacting us. Credentials are revoked if an engineer leaves the network.

Background checks are renewed yearly and performance scores reviewed quarterly with the practice lead. An engineer moving to a new stack or level passes new technical and practical assessments first. Low scores trigger coaching or removal from the bench, and you can replace anyone for any reason: a replacement starts within 4 working days; the full handover completes in under 14 days.
